Sono state annunciate, con una diretta streaming nella mattina di Los Angeles dal Samuel Goldwyn Theater, le Nomination agli Oscar 2018, la 90^ edizione dei prestigiosi premi assegnati dall’Academy. Presentate da Tiffany Haddish e Andy Serkis, con la partecipazione di altre star che hanno introdotto alcune delle categorie (in particolare quelle tecniche) con brevi intermezzi musicali ed artistici, le candidature hanno confermato molti dei pronostici ma, come sempre, non manca qualche sorpresa.
Sono tredici le Nomination complessive per The Shape of Water di Guillermo Del Toro, comprese ovviamente quella per il Miglior Film e per la Regia dell’autore messicano. Segue, a otto Nomination, Dunkirk, il capolavoro di Christopher Nolan che ottiene, finalmente, anche la sua prima candidatura come Miglior Regista. Sette le candidature per Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri, seguito da film di grande rilevanza quali Darkest Hour (dove spicca la candidatura di Gary Oldman come Miglior Attore protagonista) e Blade Runner 2049 (che fa incetta di Nomination tecniche). Si rivaluta anche Phantom Threaddi Paul Thomas Anderson, dopo le poche soddisfazioni raccolte negli altri eventi, così come in parte I, Tonya e soprattutto Call Me By Your Name di Luca Guadagnino, che ottiene quattro Nomination e raccoglie praticamente il massimo possibile. Tra le sorprese, ma fino ad un certo punto, ecco le varie Nomination per Get Out, Lady Bird, Mudbound, mentre The Post si ferma a due candidature, ma molto importanti: Miglior Film e Miglior Attrice protagonista per Meryl Streep, alla sua 21^ in carriera. Straordinaria!
